?The press announcement says "melodrama to the masses", but I am tempted to sarcastically remark the masses won't appreciate this work. The sarcasm isn't out of place here because the surreal potpourri offered by BOGUS BLIMP includes just that; as well as grotesquery and elements of cabaret, but what pervades this album most is the feeling of alienation, anxieties and the kind of darkness which might have permeated speakeasies watched through a glass of absinthe and filled with puffs of smoke. Shame on you if you skip this album.? ? Eld Rich Palmer
?BOGUS BLIMP revel in bombarding the listener with silliness and tongue-in-cheek black humour. However, no image is brought to mind more often than that of a psychopath grinning at you from the other side of a straightjacket. This can be unsettling, that BOGUS BLIMP are intentionally trying to drag everyone else into their personal unbalanced world. But I salute them; I like it in there.? - Esoterica
?Not only are the melodies baffling, but the way this band makes things progress like some very icky, sticky stuff, is incredible." - Terrorizer (9/10 points)
"Cords.Wires is so bizarre, it hurts. A concept album of sorts, the lyrics are arranged almost as spoken-word plays, as if the group sampled some really cheesy B-movies and layered those conversations on top of music. But they're not just schlepped on; the music actually follows what's being said.? - Grinding Into Emptiness
"I think it's set in the future with the 'President of the World' calling upon all citizens to save the human race as the Devil later declares "give me world domination by five o'clock tea". It's fun ..."
- Brainwashed
"It feels like having one's brain hardwired into a late night 1950s science fiction re-run." - Last Sigh
"A grotesque caricature of modern life, delivered with impressive timing, creativity and satiric bad-boy glee." - AmbiEntrance
Amongst scattered reverberations, orchestralish gloom and feedback squalls, pallid croaks declare that this IS The END OF THE WORLD.
